1. About this policy

Raised Over Pty Ltd ABN 62 645 116 882, trading as Raised Over ("Raised Over", "we", "us" or "our"), provides online educational content for fundraising professionals and organisations.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, hold, use and disclose personal information when you:

  • visit raisedover.com;
  • create or use a Raised Over account;
  • purchase or access our content;
  • participate in a course, assessment or learning activity;
  • subscribe to our communications;
  • contact us; or
  • otherwise interact with Raised Over.

Where the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles apply to us, we will handle personal information in accordance with those requirements.

2. What is personal information?

Personal information is information or an opinion about an identified individual or an individual who is reasonably identifiable.

The personal information we collect depends on how you interact with Raised Over.

3. Personal information we may collect

Contact and professional information

We may collect:

  • your name;
  • email address;
  • telephone number;
  • postal or billing address;
  • job title;
  • employer or organisation;
  • fundraising area or professional interests; and
  • other information you provide to us.

Account information

When you create or use an account, we may collect:

  • your username and account identifier;
  • securely stored authentication information;
  • account permissions;
  • organisation or team membership;
  • login history;
  • content access history;
  • course enrolments;
  • lesson and course progress;
  • quiz or assessment results;
  • certificates or completion records; and
  • account preferences.

Where your employer or another organisation purchases access for you, we may receive your name, work email address and relevant account information from that organisation.

Purchase and subscription information

We may collect:

  • the subscription or content access purchased;
  • purchase, renewal and cancellation dates;
  • subscription status;
  • billing address;
  • invoice information;
  • transaction amounts;
  • payment status; and
  • limited information supplied by our payment provider.

Payments may be processed by a third-party payment provider. Raised Over does not generally collect or store complete payment-card details.

Website and technical information

When you use our website or learning platform, we may automatically collect:

  • IP address;
  • browser type;
  • device type;
  • operating system;
  • approximate location;
  • pages viewed;
  • links selected;
  • referring website;
  • session information;
  • login activity;
  • cookie identifiers; and
  • information about how you use our website and content.

We use Google Analytics to collect and analyse certain website usage information. We do not currently use Meta Pixel, Facebook advertising cookies or other advertising pixels.

Communications and feedback

We may collect information contained in:

  • emails and messages;
  • enquiries and support requests;
  • feedback and survey responses;
  • complaints;
  • reviews and testimonials; and
  • other communications with us.

We will obtain your permission before publicly identifying you in a testimonial or case study.

Information submitted through learning activities

Our content may include worksheets, exercises, forms, assessments or other interactive features.

You should not submit confidential information, sensitive information or personal information about another person unless:

  • it is genuinely necessary;
  • you are authorised to provide it; and
  • doing so complies with your organisation's policies and applicable law.

Sensitive information

Raised Over does not generally seek to collect sensitive information.

Please do not provide information about health, racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious beliefs, sexual orientation, criminal history or other sensitive matters unless we specifically request it and you consent to its collection.

4. How we collect personal information

We may collect personal information:

  • directly from you;
  • through our website or learning platform;
  • when you create an account or make a purchase;
  • when you complete an exercise, assessment, form or survey;
  • when you contact us;
  • from an employer or organisation that purchases access for you;
  • from an authorised representative;
  • through cookies and Google Analytics;
  • from payment, hosting and technology providers;
  • from publicly available professional sources; or
  • where collection is required or authorised by law.

Where practical, we will collect personal information directly from you.

You may contact us anonymously or using a pseudonym where this is lawful and practical. However, we may be unable to provide account access, process a purchase or deliver certain features without identifying information.

5. Why we collect and use personal information

We may collect, hold and use personal information to:

  • provide and administer the Raised Over website and content platform;
  • create and manage accounts;
  • process purchases, invoices, subscriptions and payments;
  • administer subscription renewals and cancellations;
  • provide access to courses and other content;
  • record course participation and completion;
  • issue certificates or completion records;
  • administer organisational and team accounts;
  • provide customer support;
  • respond to enquiries, feedback and complaints;
  • communicate about accounts, billing, renewals, security or service matters;
  • personalise and improve the user experience;
  • understand how our website and content are used;
  • improve our content, platform and business;
  • conduct internal research, reporting and analytics;
  • prevent fraud, misuse and unauthorised access;
  • maintain the security of our systems;
  • send marketing communications where permitted;
  • manage our legal, accounting and administrative obligations;
  • enforce our agreements;
  • protect our rights and the rights of others; and
  • comply with applicable laws.

We may use aggregated or de-identified information for analysis, reporting and content development where individuals are not reasonably identifiable.

6. Organisational accounts

Where an employer or organisation purchases access for its personnel, an authorised account administrator may be able to see information relating to users connected with that organisation, including:

  • names and work email addresses;
  • account status;
  • content assigned;
  • course progress;
  • completion status;
  • assessment results; and
  • certificates earned.

The purchasing organisation is responsible for telling its users about this access and ensuring it is authorised to provide their information to Raised Over.

We will not ordinarily give an organisational administrator access to private communications between an individual user and Raised Over unless this is reasonably necessary to administer the account, resolve an issue, comply with law or protect our rights.

7. Direct marketing

We may send information about Raised Over content, resources, events and offers where:

  • you have consented;
  • consent can reasonably be inferred in the circumstances; or
  • we are otherwise permitted by law.

Marketing communications will identify Raised Over as the sender and provide a clear way to unsubscribe.

You can unsubscribe by:

  • using the unsubscribe link in the communication; or
  • emailing hello@raisedover.com.

We will process unsubscribe requests within five working days.

Unsubscribing from marketing will not prevent us from sending essential account, payment, security, subscription-renewal or service communications.

We do not sell personal information to third parties for their independent marketing.

8. Google Analytics and cookies

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how people use our website.

Google Analytics may collect information such as:

  • pages visited;
  • time spent on pages;
  • approximate geographic location;
  • browser and device information;
  • referral source;
  • interactions with website features; and
  • a randomly generated identifier associated with a browser or device.

We use this information to understand website performance and improve our content and user experience.

We do not use Google Analytics to collect information that directly identifies you, such as your name or email address.

Google Analytics may use first-party cookies, including cookies named _ga and _ga_<container-id>.

We do not currently use Google Analytics advertising features, Meta Pixel, Facebook advertising cookies or other advertising pixels.

You can manage analytics cookies through our cookie controls, where available, or through your browser settings. See our Cookies Policy for further information.

9. Disclosure of personal information

We may disclose personal information to:

  • website and cloud-hosting providers;
  • content, membership or learning-platform providers;
  • payment processors;
  • email and customer-communications providers;
  • Google Analytics;
  • accounting and business-administration providers;
  • professional advisers, including lawyers and accountants;
  • contractors who help operate Raised Over;
  • an organisation that purchased or administers your access;
  • law-enforcement, regulatory or government bodies where required or authorised;
  • parties involved in a genuine sale, restructure or transfer of the Raised Over business; and
  • other parties where you direct or consent to the disclosure.

We do not sell personal information.

We take reasonable steps to require service providers to handle information only for authorised purposes and apply appropriate security and confidentiality measures.

10. Overseas storage and disclosure

Some of our technology providers may store or process information outside Australia.

Overseas recipients are likely to be located in the United States and other countries in which our hosting, payment, communications or analytics providers operate.

Google operates internationally, and information collected through Google Analytics may be processed using infrastructure located outside Australia.

Where required by Australian privacy law, we will take reasonable steps before disclosing personal information to an overseas recipient.

11. Security

We take reasonable administrative, technical and physical measures to protect personal information from:

  • misuse;
  • interference;
  • loss;
  • unauthorised access;
  • unauthorised modification; and
  • unauthorised disclosure.

These measures may include:

  • access controls;
  • secure hosting;
  • encryption;
  • authentication controls;
  • software updates;
  • backups; and
  • confidentiality obligations.

No website, transmission or storage system is completely secure.

You are responsible for keeping your login details confidential and should notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorised use of your account.

12. Retention and deletion

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to:

  • provide account and content access;
  • administer subscriptions;
  • maintain purchase and course-completion records;
  • meet legal, tax and accounting obligations;
  • resolve disputes;
  • prevent fraud or misuse; and
  • enforce our agreements.

When personal information is no longer reasonably required, we will take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it unless we are required or permitted to retain it.

Some information may remain temporarily in secure backups or archived systems.

13. Access and correction

You may request access to personal information we hold about you or ask us to correct information that is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete, irrelevant or misleading.

In some circumstances, the law may permit us to refuse access or correction. Where required, we will explain our reason and the available complaint options.

14. Data breaches

If we become aware of a suspected data breach, we will assess and respond to it in accordance with applicable law.

Where the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme applies and a breach is likely to result in serious harm, we will notify affected individuals and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner as required.

15. Third-party websites and services

Our website or content may link to third-party websites, applications, videos, payment services or resources.

Those third parties have their own privacy practices. Raised Over is not responsible for how an independent third party collects or handles personal information.

You should review the third party's privacy information before providing it with personal information.

16. Children

Raised Over content is intended primarily for adult professionals and organisations. It is not directed to children under 16.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16 without appropriate authorisation.

Please contact us if you believe a child has provided personal information to us without appropriate permission.

We will acknowledge and investigate complaints within a reasonable period. We may contact you for further information and will explain the outcome of our investigation.

If you are not satisfied with our response and Australian privacy law applies, you may be able to lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.

18. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when our practices, technology or legal obligations change.

The current version will be published on raisedover.com with its effective date.

Where a change materially affects how we handle existing personal information, we will take reasonable steps to provide additional notice.
